Between the 6th and 10th July, our Year 12 students took the opportunity to explore future destinations during our annual Futures Week. The week was packed with workshops, university insights and life-skills information designed to help students transition confidently into life after Thornleigh.
Throughout the week, students received careers guidance through workshops on CV writing, interview preparation, and competitive degree apprenticeships with Manchester Metropolitan University. We welcomed guest speakers from Lancaster University and the University of Hull, alongside specialised healthcare sessions from Medic Launch and Doctor Lancashire from the NHS. We also listened to two of our former students as they returned to share real, honest advice about navigating university life, apprenticeships, and the transition out of Sixth Form. The sessions on financial literacy, budgeting and volunteering opportunities taught students exactly what it takes to thrive as independent, well-rounded adults.
Our students are now better equipped to start finalising their UCAS applications, applying for degree apprenticeships and planning their next steps.
A huge thank you to all our guest speakers, alumni, and staff for supporting our students with this brilliant event.
